Defence Forces preparation help

Use PSP for preparation and its account support for access problems. Use the Defence Forces recruitment contact for application status, official assessment instructions and individual eligibility questions.

Save your work in your PSP account. Applications are submitted through the official Defence Forces website.

Starting practice and choosing a route

The free diagnostic opens the account practice route and requires sign-in. Read the format instructions before starting. If your immediate need is a recruit application, use the General Service guide first and check whether your actual invitation includes aptitude.

An Army cadetship, Naval cadetship and Air Corps pilot route have different conditions. Shared reasoning material does not turn one route’s guide into the complete preparation for another.

Understanding scores and fresh practice

PSP scores and timers are educational settings. They do not establish an official pass mark, rank or selection probability. Read explanations to identify a specific skill improvement rather than treating a score as a decision about suitability.

Fresh practice and deliberate review are different. A finite bank may become exhausted. Check the runner’s notice and available options rather than assuming a repeat is unseen. An old item can still be useful when you intentionally revisit the method.

Account access and purchase questions

Review the current plan and checkout details for what is included and how long access lasts. Having an existing account does not itself state which programme access is included. For a payment or account problem, use the support route provided in the PSP account.

Do not send passwords, identity documents, medical records or official vetting material in a practice answer. Account support and official recruitment are separate processes.

When the question belongs with recruitment

Use official contacts for a missing assessment invitation, unclear required section, attendance issue, document equivalence or a medical criterion. PSP cannot see your official application status or change an assessment deadline.

Current official General Service pages differ about aptitude testing. If your terms and invitation conflict, ask the named recruiting contact. For future cadetship dates, use current opportunities rather than treating an older campaign date as a prediction.

Questions about this stage

Can PSP reset my official assessment deadline?

No. Contact the official recruitment or assessment support route named in your invitation.

Can I keep preparing for civil service as well?

Use the relevant programme and access details in your account. Your Army preparation should remain distinct from civil service test formats.

Who decides medical suitability?

The official recruitment medical process, not PSP practice or support.

Sources and current instructions

These guides explain the preparation process. Check your current competition booklet and invitation before relying on a requirement or date.

Official decisions, eligibility, medical clearance and assessment results belong to the recruiting organisation. A PSP practice score is not an official pass mark or selection prediction.
